Instructions: |

1. Combine pitted dates with orange juice to prepare the filling. |
|
|
2. Put this mixture in a small saucepan. Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat when the mixture is thick. |

3. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). |
|
|
4. Butter a 9" (22.5cm) square baking pan. |
|
|
5. Stir the oats, flour, SugarTwin® and baking soda together in a mixing bowl. |
|
|
6. Melt butter and add, stir until moist and crumbly. |
|
|
7. Press 2/3 of the oat mixture into your prepared baking pan. |
|
|
8. Spread the crust evenly with the date mixture, and sprinkle with the remaining oat mixture. |
|
|
9. Bake the date squares until nicely browned, about 40 to 45 minutes. |
|
|
10. Let cool and cut into squares. |
